Swiftwick One Merino Socks
Do What Moves You...
Merino Wool, nature's original technical fiber, has proven insulating and wicking qualities. It keeps the skin dryer when sweating and cooler when hot. Swiftwick uses a 18-gauge New Zealand Merino Wool with 3-inch minimum staple length strands for its soft finish, no-itch feel, and durability. Merino Wool is the most hydrophilic of all natural fibers, absorbing as much as 30 percent of its weight without feeling wet; however, its hydrophobic exterior with smoother scales-yes, wool has scales--allows for a softer and dryer feel.
Besides being a natural wicking fiber, Merino Wool has the ability to disperse electrostatic charge resulting in less lint and trail debris collection on the sock. Men's and women's merino wool socks from Swiftwick are superior to ordinary socks. Formerly cursed with an itchy stigma, wool's perception has changed to a high demand fiber for hikers, cyclists and runners. Swiftwick Merino Wool fibers are so fine that five strands equal the width of a human hair with one pound of wool spinning into 20 miles of fine yarn. Like Olefin, Merino Wool is biodegradable and kinder to the environment.
Composed of 60% merino wool, 30% nylon, and 10% lycra, this compression sock has a 1" cuff that sits at the ankle. Available in Black, Heather.
